Whoah, you blink
with your eyes and it's autumn again. We've been piling new stocks in
our mail order store, all those tip-of-the-iceberg releases that are
above sea level when we look at the quality.
We haven't been sitting still on the release-side, but we had to
reorganise a lot. We're now preparing for the new release of TONER
LOW on vinyl! But not before Christmas, probably. We'll let you know as
soon as we've planned the thing.

In contrast to what we have stated earlier, Freebird
Records will not release the new album by MOGUL. Freebird is a very
cooperative label, but if cooperation does not bring what everyone
expects, then it's better to go separate ways. The album will be
released somewhere else pretty soon.

Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us! Today
it's exactly 10 years ago that we released our first CD!!! Also
congratulations to bands like MUGWUMPS, DOZER, SOLACE and RADIOSTARS
who are still alive and kicking after a decade. We're celebrating
quietly over here, no 10 year overview DVD boxes or big parties, alas,
we'll do that sometime soon. Promised.

New releases on the shelf! Quietly we've finally
unleashed the 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC dual disc of "Villa Rocka". It's cool
to present a new type of music medium (new for us...) but boy, we got
enough headaches during the production process in order to sedate a
herd of stampeding elephants. So we're very relieved that we can
finally offer this CD on one side, DVD on the other side as we've
intended 2 years ago.

We have opened a MEDIA ROOM, a space where we gather
some Freebird Records related video stuff for ou to enjoy. So go there,
sit back, relax and let the groove grab you. We're planning on
refeshing something every week. Right now you can see videos by
WALLRUS, ZEUS and DEXTER JONES' CIRCUS ORCHESTRA plus some of our own
favorites.

We had to update our mailing charges again. The
good thing is that we got rid of that difficult vinyl order exception
in our mailing costs. Another good thing is that many mailing tarriffs
have remained unchanged for the largest part, a few got cheaper, but
mailing costs for smaller deliveries went up again. And lastly,
we leave it completely up to you how you want it sent: standard, quick
or registered. We only give you advice based on 9 years experience.

Label introduction
Freebird Records is a small label founded in Eindhoven, The
Netherlands, currently residing
in Leiden (The Netherlands) and Nybro (Sweden). I guess we're the
only stoner multinational on the planet now! It all started
in the early 1990's, but things got serious when we switched to CD
releases in 1998.
Freebird is intended as a platform for ambitious bands with good rock
music to present
themselves to a wider audience. We're bringing mainly heavy groove rock
(sludge, stoner, retro, cosmic, psychedelic, acid and space kinds of
rock), but we like to surprise everyone
by bringing music that is just that bit different. |
